Harvard at Town Hall presents MSNBC's Chris Matthews

Only 10 TICKETS available for this exclusive event

We have just scored 10 passes for an exclusive, private reception with MSNBC's Chris Matthews, the 2001 Visiting Fellow at Harvard's Institute of Politics. The reception will be followed by a talk on Matthews' latest book, "Tip and The Gipper."

President Ronald Reagan and Speaker of the House Tip O’Neill were the political odd couple of the ’80s: the two most powerful men in the country who, in Hardball host Chris Matthews’ words, “couldn’t be more different or more the same.” As O’Neill’s chief of staff, Matthews watched the relationship between his boss and Reagan evolve: Their philosophies were miles apart, yet there was common ground, too—and three days after Reagan’s shooting, O’Neill was the first outsider at the president’s bedside. Drawing on his insider knowledge and on extensive interviews, Matthews, author of Tip and the Gipper, brings this unlikely friendship to life, offering a timely object lesson in how bipartisan cooperation can work.
