Harvard at Town Hall presents Dr. Melissa Clarke '86

Taking Charge of Healthcare

With open enrollment in the Washington Health Benefit exchange ending on March 31, there’s been a lot of talk about healthcare reform, patient advocacy, and how to manage health-related decisions. Dr. Melissa Clarke will be discussing the ins and outs of healthcare reform and patient advocacy — know your rights, take control of your health, and become an empowered healthcare consumer. Her book Excuse Me, Doctor. I’ve got WHAT? Taking Ownership of Your Health and Making Healthcare Reform Work for You encourages responsible healthcare decision-making and encourages all to take control of healthcare — before it’s too late. By improving health literacy and relationships with doctors, the dynamic of healthcare can be shifted in the patient’s favor.
