We are partnering with local alumni associations to recruit recent college graduates to participate in a panel discussion with the middle school students and their families for Part One of the program from 9:00am to 9:45am. The conversation is about going to any 4 year or 2 year college, how to start thinking and planning for college, and what college is really like. Is it a lot of hard work – yes. Is it a lot of fun – yes. Will you make new friends that you will keep for the rest of your life – yes. What is life like after college?

All recent graduates from any college are encouraged to attend and volunteer. This volunteering event is NOT limited to alumni from Harvard University. We would like diverse representation.

The Seattle is College Bound event has been held for about the last 11 years and has in the past targeted only high school students. This year for the third time, the Harvard Club of Seattle will be collaborating on Middle School Early College Awareness. Some of our other partners are Seattle Public Schools, University of Washington, College Bound Scholarship, College Success Foundation, and many others.

Our target audience are students who might not normally consider college, and we are expecting about 60 to 90 public middle school students and their families to participate.

Recent grad volunteers are needed on Saturday, March 21, 2015 from 9:00am to 9:45am to speak with middle school students during Part One of the event at the Mary Gates Hall, University of Washington Campus.
