Deliver meals to shelters or help with food preparation

FareStart's mission is to provide a community that transforms lives by empowering homeless and disadvantaged men, women and families to achieve self sufficiency through life skills, job training and employment in the food service industry.

FareStart has ongoing opportunities for volunteers to do Shelter Meal Delivery and Weekend Contract Kitchen Work.

SHELTER MEAL DELIVERY
FareStart delivers meals 365 days a year to several area homeless shelters. At most locations, they drop off these important meals, however, at the Downtown Emergency Services Center, they also serve. Help deliver food to our neighbors in need.

WEEKEND CONTRACT KITCHEN
On the weekends and holidays, when chefs have fewer FareStart culinary students on-site, the kitchen relies on volunteer power to ensure that they can get these important meals to our neighbors in need. Volunteer asks include basic food preparation, for example: peeling and chopping vegetables, assembling lasagnas, etc. Chefs will assign tasks based on individual skill/comfort level.

TIME REQUIREMENTS
Shelter Meal Delivery: 3:30pm - 6:30pm
Weekend Contract Kitchen: 10:00am - 3:00pm
