140 LBS: Performance & Talkback at Theatre Off Jackson SOLD OUT
Join the Harvard Club of Seattle for 140 LBS: How Beauty Killed My Mother, a show exploring the painful truth behind body, beauty, and impossible ideals, followed by a talkback with the artist, Susan Lieu '07.
Profiled on KING5 TV and NPR and recommended in The Stranger's list of "best theatre" in Winter 2018/19, 140 LBS is a 75-minute, one-woman show on body, beauty and death, in which a now-adult daughter explores the painful truth of herself, the mother she lost to a plastic surgeon’s scalpel, and the impossible ideal of (Vietnamese) feminine beauty. The performance is followed by a talkback with the artist, Susan Lieu ’07, moderated by Thanh Tan, an award-winning journalist, documentary producer, and podcaster, whose work has appeared in The New York Times and This American Life.
