About Heather Boushey, PhD
Heather Boushey is a member of President Biden‘s Council of Economic Advisers and Chief Economist to the Investing in America Cabinet. Heather is co-founder of the Washington Center for Equitable Growth, where she was President and CEO from 2013 - 2020. She previously served as chief economist for Secretary Clinton‘s 2016 transition team and as an economist for the Center for American Progress, the Joint Economic Committee of the U.S. Congress, the Center for Economic and Policy Research, and the Economic Policy Institute.
Heather’s work as Chief Economist of the Investing in America cabinet is to understand and communicate the economic research behind the President’s economic agenda. Heather is committed to understanding and communicating the economic research about what investments need to be made and how those investments should be implemented in order to ensure sustained, equitable growth. She is also working to assess ongoing metrics of success. This involves tracking the latest economic research—and improving analytic data and measurement tools. This work is critical for ensuring that the President’s agenda fulfills its mission of growing the economy in a way that is shared and sustainable.
