Studio Tour / Artist Talk with visual artist, writer, filmmaker, and independent curator Catherine Forster
Please join Harvard and IvyPlus alumni for a guided studio tour with Catherine Forster near Olympia, WA. Then we will head to the Olympia Farmers Market for delicious food and interesting crafts.
Forster's trajectory began with a career in microbiology and international business, which paved the way for her current practice. As a microbiologist her preferred medium was a microscope; today it is a camera and a brush.
Her practice explores the relationship between social fabrications and identity, and our tentative connection to nature. Forster incorporates multiple mediums in her work, including painting, film, installation, and writing.
Olympia Farmers Market is where folks can find live music, lunch, baked bread, smoked salmon, produce, arts and crafts, flowers, etc, and a waterfront boardwalk!
