About the event
Join us on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, 6:30–8:30pm for an intimate conversation with Dwayne J. Clark, founder, CEO, and Chairman of Aegis Living, hosted at his newest community, Aegis Laurelhurst in Seattle. Refreshments will be provided.
Dwayne grew up in Eastern Washington as the youngest of four, raised by a single mother who once fed the family on nothing but potato soup for a week—an experience that shaped his views on leadership, empathy, and culture. Today, he leads one of the country’s most respected senior living companies, with more than 30 communities across the West Coast and a national reputation for redefining senior care and workplace culture.
Over several decades in senior living, Dwayne has overseen the care of more than 60,000 residents and turned Aegis into a lab for innovation—from design and hospitality to wellness and employee engagement. He’s also an author, filmmaker, philanthropist, and self-described “industry disruptor” whose work has earned recognition from organizations like Glassdoor, Ernst & Young, and U.S. News & World Report.
In recent years, Dwayne has become obsessed with longevity—traveling to dozens of countries to study healing modalities, interviewing centenarians, and distilling what it really takes to add “30 summers more” of high-quality life.
This program is designed for HBS / Ivy+ alumni interested in leadership, entrepreneurship, aging, and human performance:
• Dwayne’s personal journey: from potato soup and a single working mom to building a category-leading senior care company.
• Scaling a purpose-driven business: how he built Aegis from a tiny office above an ice cream shop into a multi-state platform while insisting on culture and care first.
• The science and mindset of longevity: practical lessons from his work with residents, physicians, and global wellness experts—what actually moves the needle as we age.
• Live interview + Q&A
You’ll also get a chance to experience Aegis Laurelhurst, Aegis’s newest community, inspired by the nearby UW campus and designed around “a life well lived.”
