From Gund Hall to the Rain City

An honest conversation by five GSDers about their professional journeys in Architecture since graduation from Harvard

Please join us for an open and honest conversation with five members of our Harvard Graduate School of Design (GSD) alumni community as they reflect on their experiences since leaving Gund Hall. Through personal stories, professional insights, and a few candid anecdotes, the speakers will share what it has really been like to develop as a professional, and to build and sustain small design studios. This event offers a chance to look past polished LinkedIn profiles and hear directly from studio founders about practice, career paths, and the realities in between.

This gathering marks the kickoff of the Alumni Lecture Series. Sponsored by the GSD Alumni Council and the Harvard Club of Seattle, the evening will begin with Pecha Kucha–style presentations from each speaker, followed by a moderated panel discussion and an open Q&A, giving the audience the opportunity to raise the questions that matter most to them.

A PechaKucha presentation is a concise, high-impact format featuring 20 slides shown for 20 seconds each, totaling 6 minutes and 40 seconds of automatically timed, image-driven storytelling. Developed in Japan, it emphasizes visual aids over text, fostering creativity and focus by forcing presenters to "talk less and show more".

The event is intended for seasoned practitioners, emerging professionals, and anyone with a broader interest in design and architecture.
