Harvard at Town Hall presents Adam Grant '03

A Revolutionary Give-And-Take Approach to Success

Join us for a private reception and talk with Adam Grant '03, Wharton's youngest tenured professor and author of Give and Take: A Revolutionary Approach to Success

We all know that hard work, talent, and luck play a role in success. But as the world of work becomes more connected, success is increasingly dependent on how we interact with others. Adam Grant '03, a leading expert on success, work motivation, and helping and giving behaviorsand one of the world’s 40 best business professors under 40, explores this paradigm shift in the workplace by illuminating what effective networking, collaboration, influence, negotiation, and leadership skills have in common—essentially, debunking the myth that “nice people finish last.” Examining three surprisingly influential workplace styles (takers, who try to get as much as possible from others; matchers, who aim to trade evenly; and givers, who contribute to others without expecting anything in return), Grant demonstrates how a generous orientation toward others can produce successful leaders and organizations.
